On the way to St Paul’s Lutheran Church Parish camp this afternoon with my daughters, we were stuck in traffic because of this: Flying Wheel kills man in Freakish Freeway Collision. One feels great sympathy for the family of the man who was killed.
Ironically, the accident happened on the other side of the freeway (the inbound) from that on which we were travelling (the outbound). But the traffic was still banked up on the outbound also all the way back to the city (twenty kms?), so that it was “stop-start” all the way to the Point Cook turn off. In fact, there was absolutely no physical obstruction to our side of the road. The only thing that caused the slow down for us was the fact that traffic was slowing at the point of the accident to sticky-beak at the spectacle on the other side…
